CHANGE OF MTN RWANDA SERVICE NUMBERS
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
What has changed?
We have changed our customer care helpline number. The new number through which ALL MTN customers will get assistance is 100, customers will load airtime by dialing *130*Voucher number# and they will be able to check their airtime balance by dialing *131#
Why has the change happened?
The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority, the government regulator of all telecommunication services now requires all telecom operators to use standardized service numbers to align with the rest of the East African countries. This is aimed at improving customers user experience. This requirement is for all operators in Rwanda and not unique to MTN.
When did these changes take effect?
June 15th 2015
However, the old numbers will be in operation alongside the new number until the end of 2015 whilst MTN embarks on an intensive and nationwide customer education campaign. This is aimed at ensuring that customers across the country are aware of the changes and do not have their services disrupted.
Where is the new number applicable?
The number is applicable to all MTN Mobile customers who wish to get customer support, check balance and load airtime.
