The MTN Group Board advises that following the successful resolution of the Nigerian dispute, it has completed the review of its governance and management structures in accordance with its undertaking to do so. The appointment of new executives and the expansion of the roles of others, together with the appointment of additional non-executive directors, details of which are set out hereunder, will achieve the objective of strengthening management, enhancing governance and aiding strategy in the Group.
Johannesburg – MTN employees in Afghanistan will spend the next 21 days establishing a computer lab and painting various schools in Kabul, while their colleagues in Syria will renovate a library and playground of a public school in Damascus. In Sudan, MTNers will establish the country’s first national audio library to provide free, high quality audiobooks for visually impaired students.
The MTN Rwanda today announced the launch of its new youth proposition campaign which is targeted at the youthful subscribers on its network. Titled “YOLO, Go Be Great,” the campaign targets the 16-24 age group, offering them access to a unique platform that includes an exciting voice and data offering called the Yolo Pack. The campaign and the offer tied to it aims to create an enhanced user-experience for this segment.
